Participation to several projects from the public and private sector, including BRITE-EURAM projects and development of simulation software for the german automobile industry.

1952 Born in Thessaloniki, Greece.
1975 Diploma Degree in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (du-ration of studies: five years).
1982 Doctoral Degree from the Civil Engineering Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Thesis title: Optimal control of structures (supervisor P.D.Panagiotopoulos).
1982-1988 Researcher at the Technical University (RWTH) of Aachen, Germany.
Research on characteristics-based computational techniques for wave propagation in solids.
1988-cont. Member of the Institute of Metal Structures , Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Main research work at the interface between mathematical programming and mechanics of structures, especially made of steel.
